Floss handles
A handle may allow some residents who could not normally floss on their own to floss more easily. Handles also prevent care providers from having to place their fingers between the person’s teeth when flossing.
Floss handles come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with floss attached. Some are reusable, while others may be disposable after a single use.
Interdental Brushes
Interdental brushes have large handles and small cylindrical brush heads that fit between the teeth.
Interdental Tips
These tips are usually made of rubber or plastic, and attached to the end of a toothbrush handle. These fit between the teeth and are easy on the gums. Trace the gum line and between the teeth to collect and remove debris.
Dental Toothpicks
Toothpicks are typically made of wood such as birch, which helps reduce splintering. The shape is designed to allow them to fit into the spaced between teeth.
Toothpicks are also sometimes referred to as interdental cleaners, dental wood sticks, stimudents, dental pics, soft pics or go-betweens.
